ATSM Challenge #79

Goodmorning! I am back today to share with you my DT cards for the lastest challenge at ATSM.

We are asking you to create something

CLEAN AND SIMPLE

This morning I have my card class that I am hosting (which my students have named Kylie's Kards). Sammie (one of my students) brought a stamp set over a few weeks ago asking if we could use it in one of our classes. It's an old SU set, but I had fun trying differnet ways to use these stamps.

For those of you who may still have it, I have used the Sent with Love set by Stampin' Up!

Here we go with my DT cards -

This first card was fun to make. I haven't made a rosette for ages! I enjoyed plugging in the old glue gun again, lol. My favourite accessory while using the glue gun is my silicon mat. It makes it so easy to assemble bits and pieces without the hot glue damaging anything.

The red and white is very 'lovey dovey' for Valentines. I had also forgotten how much I love the Polka Dot Parade DSP!

I like the colour scheme of this one. The Island Indigo is a beautiful colour and works well with the Real Red and Whisper White.

I have used a lot of dies for these cards. They have all come from either the Thinlits Label Card Die pack or the Thinlints Circle Card Die pack. Those extra dies you get are so cool. I think this is the first time I have probably used Chevrons on a card... (gasp!). The heart die is from the Hearts A Flutter set.

We are so thrilled to have our sponsor with us again!

Deedee will offer 3 digi sets for our winner.

Deedee has been just an amazing sponsor! Thanks so much xx

*************************

I hope they enjoy making these cards today. I also have a VIP guest for my card class. My 10 year old niece will be joining us. She and her brother arrived today with their dad all the way from Canberra. They have just started the big move up to Queensland so I am going to see a lot more of them from now on. Hopefully it wont be long before my sister will join them. She's doing the hard yakka back in Canberra until she can secure a job up here in the Sunshine State.

I would love to enter both these cards into the following challenges -

Victorine Stamps - Valentine's / Love

Cuttlebug Mania - All you need is Love

STAMPlorations Sketch Challenge #4

Welcome to the latest bi-weekly sketch challenge at STAMPlorations!

Shery has a great sketch for us to play with. I love its CAS design.

Have you joined in all our January challenges? Here is a great reason to play along -

Each month, we host 3 challenges: 1 monthly challenge that starts on the 1st Friday and 2 bi-weekly sketch challenges that start on the 1st and 3rd Monday. Those who participate in all 3 challenges for the month will be in the running to receive a prize package from our sister shop, All About Scrapping. We'll randomly pick one winner and announce who that is the following month before the next monthly challenge starts. Remember, you must participate in all 3 challenges that month for a chance to win a prize.

Here is my DT card -

I have used a set called VIGNETTE Art Deco Border Builders

I used a base of Very Vanilla cardstock with a panel of the same colour popped up on dimensionals.

The smallest stamp in this set was used to create the horizontal border behind the squares by restamping the image. This was inked with Wisteria Wonder. I then used Black ink for the main stamp which I punched out using my 1" square punch.

The sentiment was inked with Wisteria Wonder and is from my Express Yourself set from SU.

I had actually embossed a panel originally to use on this card but I really felt that the stamps were the perfect focal point for this clean and simple design.

I hope you will come and join in the fun. There is plenty of inspiration for you over at the challenge blog.  Pop on over and say hi.

Thanks so much for looking xx

Here is the code word that was chosen by the amazing Shana -

Take the code word and use it for your inspiration while keeping everything Clean and Simple!

Here is my DT card -

I decided to use my butterflies to represent our code word.

I have used SU's Natural Composition Paper which was a gift from Stalker #1 (Phillipa). It is such a beautiful cardstock! I have used a stamp from the Flowering Flourishes set (SU), inked with Chocolate Chip. The butterflies are from the Papillon Potpourri set (SU) and inked with Wisteria Wonder and Concord Crush. The sentiment is from the Simply Sketched set (SU).

It's time now that I also bid a fond farewell to DT member, Christine. See you around blogland, girl, I will miss you here at ATCAS xx

ATSM is back for 2014!

Hi everyone! Happy New Year!!

Welcome to 2014.  We have our first challenge of the year over at the Addicted to Stamps and More blog starting right now.

We are kicking off with our

MAKE YOUR MARK challenge.

Here is my DT card -

This is a very masculine card as it is for my step-father who turns fifty this month. I have actually scheduled this post as I am travelling home to Canberra for the party. So the birthday boy will have received this card before this post goes live.

I have used a base of Chocolate Chip card stock and layers of Very Vanilla for my triple time stamping card. I went wild with my Gorgeous Grunge set (SU) and used the brown range of markers from SU directly onto my stamps.

The sentiment is from the Friendly Phrases set (SU).

The little '50' that you see if from a gorgeous little set that my dad found on ebay and bought for me, They are tiny little stamps in a wooden box - very cute and antiquey looking.

We have a wonderful sponsor this week over at the challenge blog -

Deedee is offering 3 digi sets of the winner's choice.

STAMPlorations Sketch Challenge #3

Hi everyone. Here we are with our first bi-weekly challenge for 2014 at STAMPlorations.

Each fortnight, Shery provides us will a cool sketch to work with. Don't forget we also have our monthly challenge that you can join in on as well. Perhaps you would like to combine this sketch with the monthly theme of 'Stamps and Feathers' to enter into both challenges?

Here is a great reason to join in all our challenges for the month -

Each month, we host 3 challenges: 1 monthly challenge that starts on the 1st Friday and 2 bi-weekly sketch challenges that start on the 1st and 3rd Monday. Those who participate in all 3 challenges for the month will be in the running to receive a prize package from our sister shop, All About Scrapping. We'll randomly pick one winner and announce who that is the following month before the next monthly challenge starts. Remember, you must participate in all 3 challenges that month for a chance to win a prize.

Here is the sketch -

Here is my DT card -

The main emphasis on my card today is the amazing digital papers that you can purchase from the STAMPlorations Etsy Shop. These ones are called Splash of Grunge. I have printed off two colours - one for the base of my card and one for the butterflies.

I have cut out panels of Whisper White cardstock and embossed them with my Square Lattice Folder. I then sponged around the edges with Wisteria Wonder ink.

The butterflies are from the Beautiful Wings embosslit (SU).

The sentiment is from the gorgeous STAMPlorations set called Trendy Feathers. This set is VERY versatile!

I even used a bit of the cut-off from the digital paper and an extra butterfly to decorate the inside of my card.

All you need to do now is to pop on over to the STAMPlorations challenge blog and check out the awesome inspiration from the rest of the DT.

I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Thanks so much for looking xx

ATCAS Challenge #29

Hello!! How are you all?

I hope for those of you that live in Queensland, Australia you have survived today's heat. I am actually away in Canberra at the moment but at home the mercury hit 41 degrees Celcius (105.8F). It was 31 degrees at 9am this morning. With the ever present humidity - not nice.

Tonight I am off to my step-fathers 50th birthday party (you will see the card I made for him on Wednesday morning when we are back over at ATSM). The theme of the party is 60's/70's and we are all getting dressed up. My son's costume is so cool and I can't wait to post some photos.

Anyway! On to business....

We have our first challenge for 2014 happening right now over at Addicted to CAS

Your hostess this fortnight is Loll and here is the code word she has chosen -

We have a wonderful guest designer, too, for the month of January. Nancy Littrell has a wonderful CAS design and I can't wait to see what she does for each challenge.

Here is my DT card -

I am really unhappy with my photo but as I am away from home (and what I am used to), this will have to do :(

I have simply cut the hearts with a die in the collection included in the Thinlits Circle card die from SU. The sentiment is my mum's (I raided her craft room) and is from a set that she hasn't labelled..... I have popped the hearts up on dimensionals. The card looks nicer in real life.

Pop on over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the lovely ladies have been up to over their break and see what they have made for your inspiration.
