HLS Spotlight - Butterfly Birthday

Hi everyone. The last couple of days have found me thinking I would like to spotlight some of the stamp sets from Happy Little Stampers. My first choice, of course, was the very first set designed called Butterfly Birthday and the coordinating dies.

Here are my cards

My first card was completely inspired by the very talented Ingrid who designs for Happy Little Stampers. Ingrid is also on the HLS Video Crew and created an amazing 2 part tutorial. I changed up the design a little but the techniques that Ingrid used are definitely there. Check out Part 1 HERE and Part 2 HERE.

Here is my next card using the same technique as the first. I've added a strip of vellum which I have stamped the sentiment on.

Stamps & Fun - Birthday

My 3rd card was very simple to make. Using some patterned paper I bought with a kit while on a cruise in Hawaii, I die cut my butterfly as an aperture to show the pretty rainbow of colours.

Below is a recap of more cards I have made using the Butterfly Birthday set. There are also links to the video tutorials if you would like to have a go at any of the techniques.

Guest Designer at Time Out!

Displaying timeout april.jpg
Hi there! I am very happy to be a Guest Designer for the new Time Out challenge that starts today. The girls have an awesome photo as inspiration.

I love this fun and colourful cupboard. I took inspiration from the flowers and tried to match up some of the colours while colouring them.

Here is my card -

I stamped my largest flower first, created a mask out of post-it tape and stamped the rest of my images. I coloured them with plain old textas (markers) that I bought from the supermarket :)

This is the new Doodled Flowers set from Happy Little Stampers. I LOVE this set!

Happy Little Stampers is also sponsoring this challenge! Play along for your chance to win a $15 certficate to the shop.

I hope you take the Time Out to play along! Thanks to the girls for having me as their Guest Designer xx

HLS April CAS Challenge

Hi again! Time for our CAS challenge over at Happy Little Stampers!

I'm sure you will find this technique really fun to do -

This month we are thrilled to have Sarah from Sazzle Dazzle Crafts as our Guest Designer. Welcome!

Here is my card -

I used dylusions ink spray on my stencil and then pressed my watercolour paper right on to the ink. I cut the panel down to size and mounted it on to black cardstock. The sentiment is from the new HLS set called Doodled Flowers.

I made this card with a dear friend of mine in mind. Karen from Serendipity Dragonfly passed away from cancer not long ago. Karen's battle with the disease was fierce. She never, ever gave up and when you spoke to her you wouldn't even know she was sick. I met Karen's sister, Val, a couple of years ago when I visited London. I also had plans to visit with Karen this coming July when I am over in the UK for the Happy Little Stampers Craft Retreat. Unfortunately I won't get to meet this wonderful lady.

Karen and Val were part of my original team over at Addicted to Stamps and More! which was the first challenge blog I created nearly 4 years ago. Karen also jumped on board at Addicted to CAS when it was formed not long after that.

It has taken me a while to actually write about Karen. I was devastated when I received the message from Val. Of course, my grief could not be compared to that of her family. My card is for Tony. My card is for Val. My card is for all the family and friends who have lost Karen.

May Karen now rest in peace as the pain is gone. Never to be forgotten.

Thank you for popping in today :)

Happy Little Stampers - CASE the Designer

Hi everyone! Welcome back.

We have a brand new challenge starting over at Happy Little Stampers. As you know, on the first of each month we kick off with our

CASE the Designer challenge.

This month is even more special as we are celebrating our 1st birthday! There are lots of prizes to be won this month. All you have to do is play along for your chance to win.

This month we are CASEing Joyce!

Here is her card -

I love the design that Joyce created!

Here is my CASE -

I simply die cut a panel and temporarily adhered it to my card base. I stamped the images making sure I went off the edge of the small die cut panel. Once I had finished stamping, I removed the smaller panel and coloured in the flowers using glitter gel pens. I replaced the panel using foam tape to add dimension.

This set is the new one from HLS called Doodled Flowers.

See you over there :)
